James Bayer, a native of New York has always been fascinated with the west and its wildlife.
As a result of this interest, he decided to move west to enrich his art career.
With what James believes is a God-given talent, he retired from his general contracting business to devote himself exclusively to his oil paintings and their composition.
As a self-taught artist his style is both impressionistic and realistic.
He possesses an eye for detail that makes his animals come alive and sets him apart from the rest.
James Bayer frequently recognized as an "artist of life", desires for his artwork to glorify the Lord.
With every oil painting is a spiritual message from the Lord that he would like to send to his viewers; such as seen in his paintings 'Born Again', 'Resting in the Lord', 'Living Water', and 'God's Country'.
Jesus said: "I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly" (John 10:10b).
James' work has been featured at the prestigious Mountain Oyster Club in Tucson Arizona.
At the Empire Ranch Foundation in Tucson, his work was in an effort to benefit historic preservation of the Empire Ranch Headquarters.
He was one of the artists selected by the U.S. Art magazine staff for the cover article 'State of the Art'.
This article signifies the role of western art in the print world today.
His work also has appeared in many issues of Southwest Art and Art of the West magazines.
James now resides on a ranch, in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana.
The valley is often referred to as some of the most beautiful country in North America.
Here he is surrounded by the majesty of the Sapphire Mountains, abundant wildlife, horses, cattle, and scenery.
James agrees it's 'God's Country'.
